Cooking Smell
Get rid of unwanted cooking smells by boiling one teaspoon of ground cinnamon in 1/4 litre of water for fifteen minutes.
Lipstick
When testing lipstick for colour, the best place to try is on the cushion of your finger, where the skin in pinkish like that of lips.
Scissors
To sharpen your scissors, cut a sheet of emery paper into small pieces.
Plasters
If you find removing sticking plasters difficult to remove from your skin, try rubbing baby oil over the plaster.
Plasticine
A quick alternative for plasticine for children is a dough made with salt, water and flour. To give it colour add food colour, paprika or mustard powder. To keep it soft, store in a sealed plastic bag.
Rubber Gloves
As hands sweat a lot in rubber gloves, they may become damp and smell unpleasant. Avoid this by dusting the inside of gloves with talc when you use them. Wash gloves from inside and dry inside out after use.
Shoes
Remove odour from smelly shoes by sprinkling a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda inside each shoe and leave overnight.
Zips
A zip can be helped to run smoothly by rubbing it with a little soap, pencil lead or candle wax.
Garlic
Get rid of garlic smell from your breadth by chewing fresh mint, a coffee bean, a stalk of parsley or celery.
